On July 30th of 2011 Dani and Scott were wed right here in Berks County at St. Ignatius Loyola Church. Their wedding has been chosen as one of the featured weddings on BerksCountyWeddings.com.

Scott Robert met Danielle Pretti at a Spring Township Playground event. No, they didn’t meet as toddlers on the monkey bars but Dani was working for Scott’s mom as a playground leader at the time. They both happened to be in other relationships but fate had other plans for them. Two years later they reconnected on Facebook and that began the courtship that led to their wedding.

If you recognize Dani and you’re an Eagles fan that’s because in addition to being a third grade teacher here in Berks she is also a Philadelphia Eagles cheerleader. Dani enjoys dancing, being outdoors, and spending time with her family.

Scott is a graphic designer for an architectural sign company.  Scott enjoys playing golf and baseball as well as being outdoors.

After dating for about a year Scott proposed to Dani in a clever and personal way.  “Dani absolutely hates surprises and had an inclination  I was going to propose. I tried my absolute best to remain quiet, but she is the world’s biggest snoop. I ended up convincing her I had to work that day and she believed it. With the help of Dani’s mom, I was able to get her out of the apartment we had been living in. I decorated the entire apartment with balloons, flowers, candles, and other decorations. Dani and I are both Boston Red Sox fans, so I handed her a stuffed Red Sox bear with a heart around its neck. The heart said, “Will you marry me?” on it. I got down on one knee and Dani immediately began crying. It was a beautiful moment and luckily she said yes. ” They were engaged on February 13, 2010.

Dani and Scott started planning their wedding the very next day! They chose July 30th as their big day because it worked well with Dani’s teaching schedule and it was an anniversary date for them.  They took on the task of planning their wedding with the help of Dani’s mom.  ” Dani’s mom is incredibly organized and she truly helped make our vision a reality. We decided we wanted to include many personal touches to create a personal and memorable event. ”

There were 17 people in the bridal party. The reception was held at Stokesay Castle here in Reading.     There were numerous vendors that had to be chosen but they were certain about their reception venue, Stokesay Castle, and their photographer, James Cucinotta of Cucinotta Images. Other vendors were chosen after attending several bridal fairs and obtaining referrals.

When asked which part of the wedding planning did they like they responded:       ” We really enjoyed incorporating the little details. We tried our best to make our day about “us”. Often times people get so caught up in the planning they forget their day is truly about them. Scott designed the invitations, made special programs that introduced the wedding party, and designed table name cards that were named after our favorite places in Boston and Louisiana. The place cards had a table number and the special name as well as a photo of Scott and Dani at each of the locations. In addition,  the Eagles mascot, Swoop, was even invited to incorporate Dani’s love for the Eagles.  Swoop put on a fantastic show and added excitement to the reception.”

Dani and Scott shared some of their wedding planning details:  We chose filet and chicken because we both love each choice. After sampling both at Stokesay Castle, we knew we had made the right choice. This is not wedding food – it truly is food you would find at an upscale restaurant.

Their color theme reflected their favorite colors. Dani’s favorite color is pink, while Scott’s is orange. They decided on lime green as an accent color. Dave Reppert at Boscov’s Wishes Entertainment really took the color theme and incorporated it into all elements of the day.

Dani knew she wanted the flowers to be colorful. After looking at endless amounts of photos she knew she wanted her bouquet to really stand out. In addition to flowers, her mother wired Swarovski crystals which were added to the bouquet for some bling and extra pizzaz.

Scott loves the Boston Red Sox so Lisa Stoudt created a grooms cake of Fenway Park’s Green Monstah wall with two sugar figurines of Dani and Scott in Red Sox uniforms.

The most important factor was that they wanted their guests to have fun. Party Express DJ’s really stood out to them.

Scott grew up as a member of St. Ignatius Parish. Since Dani and he are both Catholic, they wanted to be married in the Catholic church. Over the past few years, they have gotten to know Fr. Cletus at St. Ignatius and wanted him to marry them.

Scott added that the entire day went off without any glitches!
